Trainer Chris Waller secured his first win in the rich Magic Millions Classic on Saturday with Shaquero and he has biggest targets in store for the talented colt.
Shaquero was able to bounce back to win the $2m Magic Millions Classic after having been defeated at his two prior Queensland starts which has prompted Chris Waller to aim the colt at the Group One Golden Slipper.
“The team did a great job all around the country, and to get a Magic Millions winner was pretty special,” Waller old AdelaideNow.
“He (Shaquero) showed good acceleration and I don’t think he’s worked it all out yet. He’ll come back to Sydney and we’ll look at the Golden Slipper.”
Chris Waller will also target star filly She’s All Class at the Golden Slipper after she ran an arguably luckless third in the MM Classic behind her stablemate.
“I think the barrier probably cost her, she didn’t have much luck. She was brave and wasn’t entitled to finish third,” Waller said.
Shaquero is a $15 chance in Golden Slipper betting whilst She’s All Class is at $21.
