Veteran jockey Robbie Fradd made the most of a quick visit to the Sunshine Coast, landing a double from his only two rides.

The much-travelled South African has been riding as well as ever with 87-1/2 winners this season.

Fradd won on Sheezasinga ($3) for trainer Barry Lockwood and See Marie ($4.60) for trainer Desleigh Forster.

Lockwood is a big fan of Sheezasinga’s sire Whittington who is also the sire of promising three-year-old Stampe.

“The breed are pretty handy. When Sheezasinga started to show form I bought another Whittington at the recent sales,” Lockwood said.

“Sheezasinga has been near a win but she was over racing. I got Robbie to ride her in a trial and he has been getting her to settle better.”

See Marie was bred by Raheen Stud’s Basil Nolan who sent his mare Annamarie to top sire Sebring.

“Basil has been a great supporter and he is obviously planning a future stud career for See Marie,” Forster said.

“See Marie is a half-sister to stakes horse Weinholt and I think she can develop into a stakes horse as well.

“I will probably give her a little break and bring her back as a late two-year-old and early three year old.”

Trainer Mick Mair missed the win of Federal Agent ($26) for his long-time friend and owner Gerry Harvey.

Mair, who has been battling cancer in recent years, is in isolation because of coronavirus and his wife Belinda has been doing the hands-on work.

“Mick is good but not liking being isolated and he is giving plenty of advice. He will be thrilled to get a win for Gerry,” Belinda Mair said.

Main De Foi ($2.05) brought back some fond memories for trainer Natalie McCall with her win.

The filly’s dam Burnett River is a half-sister to River Lad who McCall trained to win the 2014 Group One Stradbroke Handicap.

“Main De Foi is no River Lad but she should win her share of races,” McCall said.
