Andrew Adkins has been injured in a fall at Randwick

The last day of the Championships featuring Winx’s farewell did not start well with a terrible fall in the Fernhill Handicap which saw Andrew Adkins injured in the incident.

Jockey Glyn Schofield aboard Persan and Andrew Adkins on War Baron fell approaching the 50m mark which has left Andrew Adkins needing medical treatment, Glyn Schofield however was able to walk away from the incident.

Good news from St Vincent’s Hospital with confirmation jockey Andrew Adkins has been cleared of any major injury following race 1.
Being kept in hospital for observation.

Jockey Andrew Adkins is on the way to Hospital after the fall in race 1 at Randwick. May have suffered concussion but tests to be done at St Vincent’s Hospital. Family with him.

Andrew Adkins is being attended to on track after the fall in race 1 at Randwick. Has severe bruising around his eye area but his conscious. Being placed in hospital now. More updates to come.

Andrew Adkins still on the track being treated to. Glyn Schofield got up and went straight to him to help. The two horses got up and kept galloping and have been caught by clerk of courses. Hope all is Ok with Andrew 🙏
