The debut win of Queen Of Wizardry at Eagle Farm has seen the fillies price slashed to win the rich Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast.
Queen Of Wizardry caused an upset in the Magic Millions Handicap at Eagle Farm on Saturday beating home Win Burn and odds on favourite Ranch Hand to stamp herself as a leading contender in the 2021 Magic Millions Classic on January 16th.
The Annabel Neasham trained filly was sent out as a $23 chance with Sportsbet in Saturday’s race having been just okay in her two trials to date but she showed the added distance was to her liking finishing strongly in the concluding stages to beat the more fancied pair who looked to be fighting out the race until the 100m mark.
Jockey Stephanie Thornton was full of praise on the fillies performance with the addition of blinkers being the masterstroke from trainer Neasham who is begging to compile a talented small team since going it alone after running Ciaron Maher’s Sydney stables.
Queen Of Wizardry was a $400,000 yearling purchase by Aquis Farm from the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast sale.
