Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 2 Bisley Workwear Premiere Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick, a major lead up to the TAB Everest on October 19.
Tommy Berry (Brutal): “I trialled him the other day and I said, he’s more forward than we think. He looks big in condition, and he’s had a good blow today, it was a tough test on a soft track, but there is no nonsense about him he fights hard, when the challengers came he was there for me.
“Full credit to the Hawkes Team, they are patient with their horses and they get the results.
“That was pretty easy work for me. There’s a great bunch of owners in him, I know Newgate have bought into him, and exciting times ahead for him when he goes to stud.”
Glyn Schofield (Home Of The Brave): “He loved a bit of cut in the ground today, he was a bit fitter and sharper for the run last week, good effort.”
Nash Rawiller (Classique Legend): “Little bit perplexed, had a nice run when the pace was slow before the corner he tracked up well in his own rhythm so we had a beautiful run. He did race a little bit greenly straightening. I would just like to see how pulled up, I don’t think we saw the real horse today.”
Brenton Avdulla (Graff): “He’s racing consistently, I would have liked to see him finish a length closer, but he’s racing well.”
Hugh Bowman (Osborne Bulls): “I was hoping he might go a bit better.”
