Popular Victorian trainer Shane Nichols was rushed to hospital on Sunday after suffering a heart attack.
Shane Nichols was rushed to the Peninsula Private hospital and put into ICU on Sunday after he suffered a heart attack on Sunday morning.
Australian Trainers Association president Robbie Griffiths spoken to Nichols on Monday and was informed he was on the mend and is hopeful of being released on Tuesday.
“He’s doing better and is recovering in hospital, he’s very lucky to have got through this okay,” Griffiths said.
“He’s going to need his rest now but as soon as he needs it all of the industry will be there to help him.
“It’s a big wake up call to many in our industry to make sure you listen to the signs and try not to push yourself too far.”
