Champion jockey Damien Oliver will miss a big weekend of racing after being suspended for 14 meetings at Caulfield.
He was one of three jockeys suspended for careless riding at Saturday’s meeting.
Oliver was issued the ban after pleading guilty to a careless riding charge from the Lojac Civil Handicap aboard the gelding Goodwill for an incident at the 1400m.
The ban means Oliver will miss next weekend’s racing which includes the Group One Moir Stakes meeting on Friday night at Moonee Valley and the G1 Underwood Stakes and G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes meeting at Caulfield two days later.
He can return at the Moonee Valley night meeting on Friday week ahead of the Group One Turnbull Stakes meeting at Flemington the following day on October 7.
Nikita Beriman and Noel Callow were both handed 12 meeting suspensions.
Beriman was outed for careless riding aboard eventual runner-up I Did It Again in the Fight Cancer Foundation Plate (1100m).
Callow’s ban stemmed from the feature race of the day, the Group Three MRC Foundation Cup (2000m), for shifting in and causing interference aboard Samovare at the 1800m.
His ban starts after the Moe meeting on Monday and he can also return at the Moonee Valley meeting on October 6.
