Concussion protocols … a mandatory twelve day ‘stand-down’ order … has seen jockey Noel Callow lose rides in both the Group 1 Queensland Derby and in the Group 2 Sires Produce Stakes at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
The ruling was enforced by stewards in the aftermath of an altercation between Callow and Kyle Wilson-Taylor at Doomben on Wednesday … the details of which are under investigation.
Evidence has already been gathered, but Callow still has to give his evidence which he did not do on Wednesday as he reportedly had left the track to seek further medical assessment after being declared unfit to continue riding on the day
The inquiry into the incident will be continued at a time and date still to be determined.
