Champion trainer Darren Weir has announced that connections of Nature Strip have been in talks with an Everest slot holder.
Darren Weir when asked about the possibility that in form sprinter Nature Strip could be headed for the $13m Everest he said “In the last few days, there has been an enquiry about Nature Strip. I think the people that have enquired, and the owners, they’re going to work something out. The horse is in unbelievable order.”
Two potential Everest contenders wen’t around in the Aurie’s Star yesterday with Home Of The Brave finishing second whilst Poetic Dream was well beaten in finishing sixth and on face value neither will nor should get a slot in the race limiting the horses that remain for slot holders to choose from especially as Chautauqua is unlikely to make the race due to his barrier antics.
Nature Strip is on the fifth line of betting with bookmakers pricing the horse as a starter in the race which should aide in his ability to secure a slot.
