Star mare Mystic Journey is on track for another trip to Melbourne despite two shock loses in Tasmania to kick off her Autumn preparation.
Trainer Adam Trinder confirmed that the inaugural All Star Mile winner had pulled up well following her defeat in the Thomas Lyons Stakes at Hobart and that she will head to Melbourne this week to contest the Group 2 Blamey Stakes at Flemington where Blue Diamond winner Luke Currie will ride.
Mystic Journey was beaten as the $1.10 favourite in the Ladbrokes Stakes when resuming at Launceston on 20th January and again as the $1.20 favourite in the Thomas Lyons Stakes at Hobart on Sunday (7th February) but the shock losses haven’t deterred trainer Adam Trinder’s desire to contest another All Star Mile.
Mystic Journey, a wildcard entry when winning the 2019 All Star Mile but finished outside of the top ten in voting this year so will need to win the Blamey Stakes to gain entry into this years $5m event a Moonee Valley
Following her two defeats in Tasmania Mystic Journey has tumbled down the market in betting for the $5m All Star Mile where she is now a $51 chance with Sportsbet.
