The Melbourne Racing Club is giving members the opportunity to win up to $250,000 in prizemoney from the TAB Everest, in a new promotion that aims to share the winnings of the world’s richest turf race, across state borders.
The MRC Members’ Everest Sweepstakes is rewarding MRC members who attend Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas Day on Saturday 12 October, allocating up to 16 attending members with a runner in the 1100m Schillaci Stakes.
All members allocated a runner in the sweep will automatically win $500 and be invited to stand alongside connections in the Mounting Yard to view the Schillaci Stakes.
The member who is allocated the winning horse of the Schillaci Stakes will be invited to attend Caulfield on Stella Artois Caulfield Cup Day on Saturday 19 October, as a special guest of the MRC and to cheer on their horse as it runs in the TAB Everest at Royal Randwick.
If the Schillaci Stakes-winning horse goes on to place in the TAB Everest, the lucky member will receive $250,000, $100,000 or $50,000 should their horse place first, second or third, respectively.
The competition is open to eligible new and renewed members, and all that’s required to enter the draw is to attend Caulfield Racecourse and scan your membership before 2pm on Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas Day.
MRC Chief Executive Officer, Josh Blanksby, says that it was always the plan to share the prizemoney with MRC members, should the MRC slot holder be successful.
“When planning the MRC Everest Series, it was vital to us that we involve our members in the excitement of what is happening both at Caulfield and in Sydney on Saturday 19 October.
“Our members are our greatest asset, and the reason behind everything we do as a Club. Our successes are their successes and so it is only natural that we want to share the wealth, should the MRC runner get up in The Everest.
“While we don’t yet know who will take up the MRC slot in The Everest, we do know that it will be a heart stopping race for racing lovers, and even more so now for one of our members.”
