Daniel Moor has been suspended for exceeding whip limits

Jockey Daniel Moor can take a few extra days break in South Korea after being banned for six meetings on a whip-related offence at Sandown.

Moor won aboard the Anthony Freedman-trained Stone Warrior in Wednesday’s Nick Johnstone Real Estate Handicap but incurred a suspension for using the whip on 12 times before the 100m mark.

His suspension starts after he rides Singapore galloper Wimbledon in an international race, the Keeneland Korea Sprint, in South Korea on Sunday.

Moor has been campaigning on the Asian circuit in recent weeks.

He rode at the China Equine Cultural Festival meeting at Ordos in Inner Mongolia last month, riding for the China Horse Club who own Wimbledon.

“I like travelling and I’m building some really good associations with different stables and Asian owners which I’m grateful for and hopefully it can lead to bigger and better things,” Moor said.

“Wimbledon is owned by China Horse Club and it’s good to get an opportunity off those guys again.

“They’re very supportive and very loyal and it’d be nice to repay them.”

Moor, who has ridden with success in Mauritius, Malaysia, New Zealand and China, is yet to ride in South Korea but is looking forward to the challenge.

“I’ve spoken to a couple of boys, Dwayne Dunn and Dean Holland, that have ridden there and they’ve said it’s a really progressive industry,” he said.

Moor had an early association with Wimbledon doing his education before going to Singapore where he was first trained by Michael Freedman and then James Peters, Freedman’s assistant, who took over when Freedman returned to Australia.
