Melbourne Cup winner and arguably Australia’s most popular horse Subzero has returned home after fighting colic and kidney issues.
Subzero has made considerable improvement in recent days at Bendigo Equine Hospital and is now well enough to return home to his owners and best mate Graham Salisbury’s property.
Subzero won the 1992 Melbourne Cup and joined Salisbury in 1994 when he retired.
At the end of his clerk of the course duties, Subzero became a racing ambassador and regular visitor to childrenโs hospitals and nursing homes and in 2014 was honoured by the Australian Racing Hall of Fame for his services to the community.
