The VRC this morning held a press conference to outline the economic boost that the Melbourne Cup carnival gave to the state of Victoria last year with a contribution of $427.1 million n gross economic benefit.
The boost saw an increase of 10.1% on the previous year.
The Melbourne Cup carnival was responsible for the employment of approximately 20,000 staff and contractors working for 943 companies.
