Melbourne Cup winner Half Yours is poised to make his return in Saturday’s All Aged Stakes, where he is set to take on some of the nation’s leading sprinters.
The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained galloper, who completed the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup double during the spring, is among the headline nominations for the $1.5 million 1400m weight-for-age feature at Randwick.
He could line up against established Group 1 performers including Giga Kick, Jimmysstar and Magic Time in what shapes as a high-quality contest.
Yulong’s stallion prospect Angel Capital is also among the entries as he looks to secure a maiden Group 1 victory, while Godolphin’s Beiwacht is aiming to add a second elite-level success over 1400m after being withdrawn from last week’s Arrowfield 3YO Sprint.
The race has attracted 19 nominations, with fellow Godolphin runners Tom Kitten and Pericles also entered.
Trainer Chris Waller has nominated five horses for the race, including Beiwacht and Angel Capital, as well as Fangirl, Lazzura and Kovalica.
