Jordan Childs is gearing up for a strong showing in this weekend’s Group 2 Feehan Stakes at Moonee Valley, as he renews his association with Goldman.
With his usual mount, White Marlin, sidelined for the season, Childs has turned his focus to Goldman as a top contender for the Melbourne Cup 2023.
Goldman, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, has been impressive in trackwork, leading to heightened expectations.
“I think he will run well. Obviously we will try and be as close to the speed as we can,” Childs told Racing.com.
The horse has shown consistent performance, being undefeated in three runs since his arrival from New Zealand and quickly ascending from Benchmark 64 to Listed company.
“He has gone through the grades and we keep raising the bar with him and he keeps stepping up to the plate,” added Childs.
Goldman is currently priced at $9 in early markets for the Feehan Stakes.
