Trainer Greg Eurell is content to leave the most difficult job to jockey Glen Boss when the favourite Love For Ransom runs at Caulfield on Sunday.

Love For Ransom thrust herself into contention for the Group One Thousand Guineas when she won at Moonee Valley two weeks ago and her trainer believes she will reveal herself as an even more serious contender for the fillies feature after Sunday’s TMB Printing Handicap (1400m).

“The distance is going to suit her down to the ground,” Eurell said.

“And another 200 metres in the Guineas will be even better for her.

“The only problem on Sunday is the wide barrier, but that’s why we have a jockey like Glen Boss.”

Love For Ransom is unbeaten in two starts and is putting together a record that is a replica of the one established at the same time last year by the headline mare Atlantic Jewel.

Atlantic Jewel won the same Moonee Valley race as Love For Ransom this time last year and followed with victory in the equivalent race on the Caulfield program.

She then made it four from four in the Thousand Guineas.

The money says Love For Ransom will do the same.

As well as being favourite on Sunday, Love For Ransom heads Thousand Guineas betting, and Eurell is tipping she could be even shorter on race day.

“I’m really looking forward to Sunday’s race and even more stepping up to the mile just to see what she can do,” Eurell said.

Love For Ransom is drawn second from the outside in the 14-runner field and Eurell believes she will have to give away a start as she did at the Valley.

“Unfortunately the gate has dictated how we’re going to have to ride her again and it’s probably going to have to be in a very similar fashion,” Eurell said.

“But you’d hope that she’s not that far back and she gets the opportunity to be a little bit closer to the action.”
