Lindsay Park stablemates So Si Bon and Biometric are set to line up against each other at Caulfield

Wet weather has hampered the preparation of Biometric who is set to line up at Caulfield.

The Lindsay Park-trained import was scratched from Sandown last Saturday and again at Warrnambool on Thursday because of the heavy tracks.

Although rain is forecast on Saturday, the track is not expected to be worse than a Soft 5 allowing Biometric, who will be joined by stablemate So Si Bon, to take his place in the Take It To The Neds Level Handicap (1600m) on Saturday.

The Ben and Jd Hayes-trained six-year-old has not raced in five weeks with Ben Hayes saying it was time for the gelding to hit the racetrack again.

“He’s going nicely, and he likes Caulfield, so hopefully he can run well,” Hayes said.

“The question with him is, is he better at 1400 metres or 1600 metres, but we’ve scratched him twice now recently and he needs to run.”

Rising nine-year-old So Si Bon continues to race well, and Hayes believes there are still wins left in the ‘old boy’ yet.

The son of So You Think has won eight of his 75 starts and is coming off a last start second in the VOBIS Gold Mile (1600m) at Caulfield on April 23.

“He was enormous last start, but he’s drawn a little bit sticky and is top weight again,” Hayes said.

“He’s an old marvel and if something had of brought him into the race instead of him having to go around them last time, he arguably wins.

“It’s a shame, but he’s showing everyone that he still wants to race.

“Luke (Nolen) knows him well, so rather than claim on him, we thought we’d stick with the same plan.”
