Late scratching ahead of Melbourne Cup Field announcement

There has been a major late omission from the Melbourne Cup hours ahead of the Final Field being announced after the horse failed a third vets inspection.

The New Zealand galloper Jon Snow will not line-up in the Melbourne Cup Field after vets reported he was 2/5 lame.

Thomas Hobson has now gained a start in the Melbourne Cup.
