Jetwings will make his debut in familiar surroundings at Rosehill in his bid to secure a start in the summer’s richest race.

Trainer Gerald Ryan said the two-year-old would run at Rosehill, his home track, on Saturday in preference to the Wyong Magic Millions two days earlier.

An impressive 5-1/4 length winner of a barrier trial last week, Jetwings will head to the $2 million Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast on January 11 if all goes to plan.

“He is a very nice colt and his trial win was good,” Ryan said.

“We’ve decided to run him at Rosehill rather than take him to Wyong.”

Ryan has been forced to change plans for Magic Millions Guineas contender Charlie Boy who missed his scheduled barrier trial last Tuesday with a stone bruise and is likely to go into the $1 million race first-up.

“It wasn’t anything serious and he has recovered,” Ryan said.

“The plan is to give him a trial on Christmas Eve and then another on the 3rd of January and go straight into the Guineas.”

The winner of the Group Two Danehill Stakes in September, Charlie Boy had a three-week break after finishing midfield in the Caulfield Guineas won by Long John.

Ryan has also welcomed 2012 Danehill Stakes winner Snitzerland back to the stable after her interrupted spring but the racing future of her fellow Group Two winning stablemate, Flying Snitzel, is in limbo.

Flying Snitzel beat Norzita to win the Kewney Stakes in March but hasn’t reached that level since and her spring campaign ended after she beat one runner home in the Tristarc Stakes.

“Flying Snitzel had a throat problem after Melbourne and she may be retired,” Ryan said.

“Snitzerland has been back about ten days and and looks terrific. We will get her ready for the Lightning or the Oakleigh Plate in February.

“They are only a week apart so we see where we are a bit closer to the time.”

A dual runner-up at Group One level, Snitzerland was found to have a respiratory problems after her Moir Stakes failure.

She bounced back with the closest of seconds to Lankan Rupee ar Flemington during Melbourne Cup week.

A Group One win would open up the possibility of a trip to Royal Ascot in June for the King’s Stand Stakes.
