Racing Victoria stewards will investigate an incident at Geelong on Wednesday where stewards suspected a horse had been stomach tubed.
The Shawn Mathrick trained Ayers Rock was a late scratching at Geelong by order of stewards after they suspected the horse had been tubed.
“Stewards received a report from the Compliance Assurance Team this morning from a routine stable inspection at Shawn Mathrick’s property.
“It is suspected that Ayers Rock had been stomach tubed, hence the reason why the horse was withdrawn from Race 6 at Geelong.
“Swabs have been taken from the horse and the inquiry has been adjourned until a date yet to be fixed.” Racing Victoria’s RV’s deputy chairman of stewards Rob Montgomery said.
The investigation has been adjourned.
