Champion jockey Hugh Bowman will not ride this weekend on George Main Stakes day at Randwick after he underwent surgery on his hand last week.
Hugh Bowman suffered a broken finger at the trials early last week which required surgery but despite hoping he would be okay to ride this weekend he will not take to the saddle.
Bowmans two key rides on the day were Happy Clapper in the G1 George Main Stakes with Glen Boss to now take the ride and Osborne Bulls in the G2 The Shorts which will now be ridden by James McDonald.
Bowman hopes to be back riding by next weekend.
