Owner-breeder Gary Bowen says Baby Paris is not for sale now-and not for sale in the future.
The exciting three-year-old filly looks a real talent and although early into her career she is living up to the hype.
That reputation can be further enhanced in Saturday’s Listed Belgravia Stakes (1200m) against a quality batch of three-year-olds.
Now boosted to half a million dollars in prizemoney, it officially launches the Ascot Pinnacles carnival.
Baby Paris has won four of her five races with her only loss a second to Amelia’s Jewel in the Karrakatta Plate (1200m).
Bowen, with more than 50 years’ experience as a trainer in Kalgoorlie, said he wouldn’t think of selling Baby Paris.
“I was offered a big amount last week, but I’m not selling.” Gary Bowen told the Races WA.
“The money would be handy, but all I would do is buy another 10 horses that race in Kalgoorlie.
“I’m not going to get the same type of enjoyment as I’m having now.
“Down the track with her breeding I could sell some foals and get good money then.
“I’ve waited too long to get a horse like this.”
Baby Paris has her work cut out after drawing the widest gate in the Belgravia Stakes.
She’ll jump from barrier 13 for Peter Knuckey and opened a $4.60 chance with Tabtouch.
She’s on the second line behind All Show ($3.60).
My Bella Mae is next at $5, ahead of Rumour Says ($6) and Wild Belle ($7.50).
Webster says he can’t fault Baby Paris.
“She’s done everything right since her last win,” Webster said.
“I’m looking forward to seeing her run in the Placid Ark.
“It’s going to be a pretty good field.
“Luke Fernie is going to run two and his filly Wild Belle is very good over 1000m.”
Meanwhile Webster has yet to lock in Trix Of The Trade for Saturday’s R.J.Peters Stakes (1500m), the final lead-up race before the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) on November 19.
With the winner of the R.J.Peters Stakes automatically qualifying for the Railway Stakes, it’s serves as the final opportunity for several runners to gain a start in the $1.5 million race.
Trix Of The Trade is currently third favourite for the Railway Stakes, but with a rating of 94, the quality four-year-old is not assured of a start.
“I will nominate him, but it’s my preferred option to the miss the Peters Stakes,” Webster said.
“I don’t want to give him a seven day back up, he races better when fresh.
“He’s come through his last run three weeks in very good order.”
