Golden Slipper contender in doubt

One of Godolphin’s $3.5m Golden Slipper contenders is in doubt to line-up in Saturday feature race after localised swelling was found on the fillies off fore cannon.

UPDATE:

Racing NSW Chief Vet Dr T Koenig has advised a vet inspection of Kiamichi has passed the filly fit to start in the Golden Slipper. The filly has sustained a minor soft tissue swelling to off-fore cannon (due to the application of boots), but is not lame or sensitive on palpation.

Godolphin owned Kiamichi is in doubt to take her spot in the Golden Slipper Field after an incident in her stalls this afternoon has seen the horse have localised swelling to the off fore cannon.

Kiamichi will undergo a vets examination to see if she is fit to take her place in the race where she is a $31 chance in Golden Slipper markets.

Trainer J Cummings has reported Kiamichi, an acceptor in the Golden Slipper, has been found to have localised swelling to the off-fore cannon following an incident in the fillies stable. Kiamichi will be examined by Racing NSW Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Toby Koenig shortly.
