South Australian Stable employee Tommy Stokes has been charged laying horses competing in Victorian races which were in the care of his employer Phillip Stokes.
Mr Stokes was charged under the provisions of AR 227(a) in that he was negligent in not understanding his obligation under AR237(2).
The particulars of the charge being
- That during a period between 24 April 2017 and 27 November 2019 Mr Stokes placed seven lay-bets on horses in the care of his employer Phillip Stokes
- The seven lay-bets were successful for a profit of $502.
Tommy Stokes pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $1500
