Champion rider Glen Boss has won the Star Doncaster on seven occasions.
That pretty much makes him an expert on how to win the race.
So, when his mount THINK IT OVER (So You Think – Personal Service) drew 18, a seemingly awkward gate, he pondered it all for a moment.
When asked his thoughts at the barrier draw, he was positive, as G. Boss always seems to be.
“It just means his connections will get two extra points in the betting,” then he smiled. “This horse keeps flying under the radar and Kerry (Parker his trainer) just loves the prices they keep offering.”
But, seriously though, what did he make of the gate considering Think It Over, a last start Gr 1 winner against a heap of his rivals on Saturday in the $3million Star Doncaster, drew 8 that day, and 1 at his previous victory?

“Look, the Randwick mile is tricky but you just need to be positive and a bit aggressive.
“Jump him out and make sure you get the spot you want. From there you can work the race out.
“I don’t think this gate is too much of a disadvantage because this is a really good horse and he knows what he has to do now. Sure, I’ll admit, he had a cushy run last start to win the George Ryder, but he also had to be there at the finish and he was.”
Think It Over’s consistent form this time up has him at $10 with Palmerbet.
Last start he came from 8th at the bend to narrowly beat out Dreamforce and Avilius in the $1million George Ryder over 1500m.
He has won up to 2000m and did win at his last trip Randwick.
On top of all that, he actually meets all the horses he beat in the Ryder, and there are seven of them, better at the weights!
