Dual Group One winner Avilius has returned with an impressive trial at Rosehill on Tuesday morning.
Avilius who will be targeted at the 2019 Cox Plate during the Spring and not the Melbourne Cup won his trial this morning hard held beating home Special Missile and Rodrico over 1000m.
The Group One Winx Stakes looks the obvious race for Avilius to make his Spring return in although trainer James Cummings has not officially announced a program for the Tancred Stakes winner.
