Incentivise, the ruling favourite for the Caulfield Cup, had his first public hit-out with a track gallop in-between races at Pakenham today.
Trainer Peter Moody was satisfied with the gallop telling Racing.com … “He was a little bit above himself in condition … and he was having a bit of a jig-jog and that, but the whole idea of that was just to have a nice bit of a spin around and get him a bit of practice getting onto his Melbourne leg.
‘He chopped and changed a little bit. He wasn’t totally balanced all of the way … but we’ve got a couple of more weeks and a couple more gallops to work on that.
“It was pleasing. He pulled up nice in the wind and had a nice sharp blow, but I reckon he will recover pretty quickly and we’ll step his work up a little more next week.”
Moody did confirm that Incentivise would kick off his campaign in the Makybe Diva Stakes on September 11 with the rider still to be decided.
