Hugh Bowman is expected to be out of action for 6 to 8 weeks following a fall at the Panasonic Cup in Sha Tin, Hong Kong, on Saturday.
During the event, Bowman was riding Tuchel when the horse stumbled and fell.
Immediately after the incident, medical personnel attended to him on-site, and he was subsequently transported to a hospital for a detailed assessment.
On Monday evening, the Hong Kong Jockey Club issued a statement based on an evaluation by their Chief Medical Officer.
The report confirmed that Bowman sustained a fractured right scapula and three vertebrae injuries due to the fall.
