Hugh Bowman and Zac Purton have been granted permission by the HKJC to participate in high-stakes Group 1 races in Australia.
Hugh Bowman is set to ride Lindermann in the Underwood Stakes, a Group 1 event taking place at Caulfield in Melbourne on September 23.
After this commitment, Bowman will make a swift return to Hong Kong to fulfil his scheduled race riding engagements at the Sha Tin meeting on September 24.
Similarly, Zac Purton has been confirmed to ride Light Infantry in the King Charles III Stakes, another Group 1 race, which will be run at Sydney’s Randwick on October 14.
This race falls on the same day as The Everest, one of Australia’s most prominent races with a $20 million purse.
While Purton hasn’t secured a ride for The Everest 2023 yet, he will also return to Hong Kong in time for his obligations at the Sha Tin meeting on October 15.
