So what happens now?
Will Hughie Bowman, who was booked to ride SIR DRAGONET (Camelot-Sparrow) in the Gr 1 Cox Plate but yielded the mount to Glen Boss when he was suspended last week, be given the mount in the Melbourne Cup?
Or do they stay with Bossy, who rode the horse brilliantly.
“He is just a perfect horse,” said Boss. “He went wherever I wanted him to go. I moved a pinky and he responded. He just waits to be told what to do then does it.
“But I’ll tell you one thing, he was getting faster as the race went on and he will be a very big chance in the 2020 Melbourne Cup. A very big chance.”
When asked how he felt as they crossed the line, Bowman smiled a polite grin and Maid it happens. “It has happened to me before and it has happened to Glen. And it will no doubt happen to us all again, but this is a good horse.
“His European form told us all that and Ciaron maher and David Eustace were very confident.”
No decision as yet on who rides him in the Cup, but the debate on who should, shall be epic.
Tiger Moth retains favouritism at $6 with Russian Camelot who was so brave in finishing 3rd in the Cox Plate is also an $11 hope.
