Impressive Flemington winner Front Page has had plenty of interest from Hong Kong with seven figure offers coming for the Creswick Stakes winner since Saturday.
The Geoff Duryea trained gelding could not have been more impressive at Flemington on Saturday putting away a good quality field in the Creswick Stakes which has been won in recent years by Nature Strip and Gytrash who have both since won G1’s so there were no surprises to hear his phone has been ringing.
“I’ve told the syndicate what the offers are and I’ve told the agents to ring me lunchtime tomorrow (Tuesday) and it will be open to negotiation or the door is closed,” Duryea said.
“I’ve passed them (the offers) all on. I don’t own him, I only train him so it’s up to them to decide.
“They have all got to get back to me tonight (Monday) and he will either be for sale to the highest bidder, or the door is closed.
“Because he is a syndicate horse it makes it very difficult. If you get a substantial offer you still have to remember it’s got to go around and a lot of people have to get a bite of an apple.
“(And then you) go and spend half of it trying to get one as good (anyway).” Duryea told Racing.com
