Autumn Glow surges into world’s top 10 racehorses

Unbeaten mare Autumn Glow has surged into the world’s top 10 racehorses for 2026 on the eve of her biggest test in Saturday’s Group 1 $5 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick.

The International Federation of Horseracing Authorities released its latest global ratings update overnight in Europe, with Autumn Glow rising from a mark of 117 to 120 following her most recent win in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m). The new rating places her equal eighth in the world rankings.

The mare, who remains unbeaten after 11 starts, had previously been rated 117 for her narrow win in the Verry Elleegant Stakes (1600m) at Randwick.

Autumn Glow will step up to 2000 metres for the first time on Saturday, where she faces a high-quality field that includes leading Australian runners and international raider Dubai Honour. The former Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner has also entered the global rankings this year with a rating of 118 following his narrow defeat to Aeliana in the Group 1 Tancred Stakes (2400m).

Dubai Honour received a higher rating than Aeliana for that performance after carrying 2.5 kilograms more under weight-for-age conditions.

A victory in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes would likely see Autumn Glow’s rating climb further, although stronger international competition is expected as the European flat season begins.

Hong Kong star Ka Ying Rising remains the world’s highest-rated horse with a mark of 128, unchanged despite again breaking the Sha Tin 1200m track record in Group 2 company last week.

Last year’s dominant winner Calandagan has moved into equal seventh with a rating of 121 following his victory in the Group 1 Sheema Classic (2400m) at Meydan on Dubai World Cup night.

The only other Australian on the updated list is Black Caviar Lightning Stakes winner Tentyris, who earned a rating of 118 from his Group 1 success.
