A wave of notable late entries has reshaped the lineup for Friday night’s Group 2 Australia Stakes at The Valley, including the addition of G1 Thousand Guineas winner Another Prophet.
The spring classic victor was among the late nominations submitted on Tuesday, alongside last-start Standish Handicap winner It’sourtime and the capable sprinter Along The River. These additions have elevated the competitiveness of the 1200-metre sprint, which also marks the seasonal debut of dual G1 winner Southport Tycoon.
Another Prophet delivered a stunning upset in the Thousand Guineas, taking the crown for trainer Ciaron Maher and jockey Ethan Brown at long odds of $31.
Meanwhile, Flemington specialist It’sourtime, known for his consistency across 40 starts, is set to make his first appearance at The Valley in the $350,000 feature race.
With these inclusions, the Australia Stakes promises to be a thrilling start to the Group 2 calendar.
