Jumps jockey Aaron Kuru is in for a whirlwind weekend as he aims for Trans-Tasman feature jumps victories.
This Saturday, he returns to New Zealand to partner with Nedwin and The Cossack at Te Rapa.
The phone call invitation from his long-time supporters, trainer Paul Nelson and co-trainer Corrina McDougal, was enthusiastically received.
“If Paul and Corrina ever get stuck for riders they always give me a call,” Kuru told LOVERACING.NZ.
His last visit to New Zealand was triumphant, making this return highly anticipated.
Kuru and Nedwin will start as defending champions in the Pakuranga Hunt Hurdle.
“They’re very consistent horses and proven already, and they’re in a good stable in very good hands with Paul and Corrina,” Kuru said, expressing optimism for Saturday’s races and beyond.
The jockey’s packed schedule will see him immediately fly back to Melbourne for assignments at Ballarat on Sunday, including the A$350,000 Grand National Steeplechase with San Remo.
“San Remo has been consistent all year,” said Kuru, highlighting the horse’s impressive performance this season.
Aaron Kuru’s commitment to both New Zealand and Australian races underlines his passion and skill in the world of jumps racing, making him a talent to keep an eye on.
