Here’s your happy, feel good story for the day.
Last night Australian time, a baby foal was born at Willow Park Stud in NSW.
And despite looking gangly, all legs, unco, ears flopping wide apart etc, she has a lineage to be admired and she is worth probably a million dollars already.
She is by sire sensation Zoustar who stands at Widden.
Zoustar of course is the sire of sprinting queen, Gr 1 winner Sunlight and the boomed unbeaten speed sensation Zoustyle.
This little filly’s mother is the useful Fastnet Rock racehorse named Fast Fleet. She was a city winner but as a mother, well that’s where she excelled. She gave us one of the very best sprinters alive in SANTA ANA LANE.
He’s by Lope De Vega so this awkward little new born is his half-sister.
Santa Ana Lane has won 5 x Gr 1 sprint races and earned $5.3million in stakes from his 34 starts.
Willow Park Stud is a 630 acre boutique broodmare farm owned and operated by Glenn Burrows. It’s located 10 minutes north of Scone in the famous Hunter Valley.
I love foal pics and stories of well-related babies.
Just gives us a shot of enthusiasm in the world of hope.
