So Si Bon has been allocated the top weight in Saturday's Ballarat Cup

This years edition of the Ballarat Cup has attracted it’s strongest field of horses to date with the increase in prize money boosting the races interest.

Saturday’s Ballarat Cup has attracted a full field of sixteen horses and four emergencies with Eclipse Stakes winner So Si Bon given the top weight in the race with 62kg.

The big field is full of quality stayers headlined by Group One winners Harlem and Kings Will Dream whilst the rest of the field is made up of exciting new comers to the staying ranks.

The gamble to increase the prize money for the race has paid off with the race deserving of the big price tag to entice trainers to either target the race at the end of Melbourne’s spring carnival or extend their horses preparations to include the race.
