The three international contenders under veterinary scrutiny for Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup have been cleared to accept.
Absurde, Flatten The Curve and Goodie Two Shoes were re-examined by Racing Victoria veterinarians on Saturday morning and passed to proceed, following earlier notices this week when mandatory pre-race checks detected changes in their gaits since prior inspections.
With the trio cleared, connections can pay up for Tuesday’s feature. A final declaration fee of $55,000 applies to all Melbourne Cup runners, due by the 4:30pm Saturday deadline.
