At Ballarat on Sunday, one from the ‘well, you don’t see that everyday’ hits the race tracks.
MASTER RYAN (Volitant-Winning Odds) will race for the very first time.
Nothing new about that – other than he is a 10-year-old. Talk about long-suffering owners.
Part-owner Ms Steinmann also owns a 5-year-old mare also with Master Ryan’s trainer Michael Hibbs at Cranbourne. She hasn’t raced yet either.
She clearly likes giving them time to grow and mature.
Hibbs, who trained a city winner at Moonee Valley back in 2018, only has four horses in work.
Nothing is known of Master Ryan’s ability but he front sup in race 2 and has drawn gate 17.
I’ve got to watch this race.
