At Scone races on Tuesday, did a horse spring the gates and get a head start?
You be the judge.
Here is the footage of the start. This is the footage the stewards received and yet, they chose to NOT order a restart or disqualification of the horse.
AND….the horse in question won the race.
He is NEW TYCOON (Foxwedge-Backaterm) who was paying $8.
He is in 2nd from the fence in the yellow silks. He clearly lunges forward before the start but does he spring the lids and land half a length in front? If so, the automatic decision is to disqualify him.
However, even when the caller cast doubts of the legitimacy of the start, no decision was made to disqualify New Tycoon or declare a no race.

If you watch to the end, New Tycoon wins by a tad less than half a length from Two Ducks Artie and Timion.
