Golden Gate in the United States on the weekend was the scene of another added chapter to ‘Unusual Racing Events’ with Morning Addiction recording one of the more remarkable wins you’ll see.
The six year old mare, who started favourite, found the lead quite comfortably and it looked to be easy going until around 600m-700m from home in the 1100m contest where the mare sharply went backwards and immediately, you thought she may have gone amiss but racecaller Matt Dinerman quickly picked up she baulked at something because she didn’t immediately drop out from the field.
Remarkably, she gathered herself up in the straight under Asa Espinoza, drove hard late nearer the inside and just got the win in a race that has gone viral right around the world.
