Just stop what you’re doing for 58sec please, and have a look at this.
It’s the barrier trial of a 2YO named WISDOM OF WATER (Headwater-Regal Tier) and he’s trained by Team Edmonds.
Now, yes I know it’s only a trial and most of the others weren’t pushed out or knocked around.
Well, either was he.
He came around the home bend 4 off the fence with jockey Jeff Lloyd swinging in the irons, and just said bye.
The 5th and 6th horses home were 40 lengths behind him!
The whispers are he is headed for a return to racing at the Gold Coast on 1 May….that of course being should racing still be on.
The trial was at the Gold Coast on Wednesday morning. And right here I need to put it into perspective.
If you’re not blown away by the galloping action, the margin of victory, the desire to race away, the head carry and ears pricked, then compare apples to apples.
His 2YO trial was run in 58.63sec while under restraint.
The other 2YO trials were run in 59.23sec, 60.55sec while a trial for open class horses was run in 61.72sec and another one in 61.52sec.
Those open class trials were won by Blue Comet (winner of 4 races) and Glen Ord (winner of 6 races).
Wisdom Of Water, who cost $70,000 as a yearling. Might be very, very special.
