Oh, this just has to be seen to be believed.
Sadly, actually, you won’t get to see a great deal but I’ll set the scene so when you do click on and watch the run, your mind’s eye will see the mountain this filly just climbed.
It was at Balaklava and the horse is named MRS MAURINHO (Smart Missile – The Special Two).
She was resuming from a spell in this 1050m BM 58 race and she drew gate 8. After jumping with them, she bucked then refused to go for a moment, which cost her in that moment an immediate 10 lengths.
She was out the back door tailed off and to make matters worse, young rider scarlet So, took her 6-wide around the home turn.
She probably saves 2 lengths if she turned on the rails. She was 8 lengths behind the second last horse and about 14 lengths from the leader as they straightened.
Anyway, that aside, Mrs Maurinho knuckled down to her task and came home like the Indian Pacific out wide.
She placed 4th. Beaten 2.5 lengths.
Those, and there were many, who backed her in from $5.70 to start $4.60, will have to console themselves with….next time.
Watch 📺👇 Mrs Maurinho out wide pig roots, then is tailed off before flying home.
