Back in October 2012, at Rockhampton over 1100m, a horse flew around the course in a Class 1 and bolted in.
His name was OUR BOY MALACHI (Top Echelon-Rusticate) and he ran a stunning 1:3:89 before going on to win another 17 races and nearly $1 million in prizemoney.
Well, 11 years later we saw one win an 1100m Class 1 at Rocky today, by 8 lengths this time, eased down, promising his connections the world and prompting favourable comparisons with Our Boy Malachi who became a multiple Gr 2 winner.
His name is BUSTEDUP (Dusty Moon-Crystal Doll) and just sit back and watch his win.

This was his second win after winning his maiden two weeks back by 6 lengths!
The 4YO was having just his 4th start today and only his second for new trainer Clint Taylor who must be pinching himself now that he part-owns and trains him.
Prior to coming to Taylor’s yard, he hadn’t run a place in two low key bush starts at Ipswich and Warwick.
Not anymore, he’s become a galloping machine and is showing city class talent already.
Today, by way of further comparison to the great Our Boy Malachi, he ran the 1100m in 1.2:56, covering his last 600m in a sensational 33:17sec.
Our Boy Malachi clocked his last 600m when he won his Class 1 in 34:13sec.
I’m telling you, this bloke Bustedup is special.
