Blake Shinn will spend more time on the sidelines after being suspended for careless riding at Rosehill on Saturday.
Shinn was given a four-meeting ban after contributing to interference caused to Leica Larrikin when he rode Nextanix in the ClubsNSW Spring Preview Handicap (1400m).
The jockey’s suspension will start after he rides at Warwick Farm on Warwick Stakes day next Saturday and he is free to resume riding on September 6.
Shinn pleaded guilty to shifting in aboard Nextanix at the 150m mark.
Stewards accepted there were contributing factors to the interference from inside horses which kept Shinn’s suspension to four meetings instead of seven.
“I’m at fault, I got it wrong for a stride,” Shinn said.
Shinn spent six weeks out earlier this year after he was suspended for improper riding in a race at Canterbury in May.
Not long after returning from that suspension he was banned again for careless riding at Warwick Farm on July 14.
