A half-sister to three-time Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva will be among the stars of the first day of the Australian Easter Yearling sale.
The filly by Redoute’s Choice is lot 96 on Tuesday, the first of three premier selling days.
A strong international contingent of buyers was on hand at the William Inglis complex in Sydney on Monday and expectations are high based on strong sales at the Magic Millions on the Gold Coast and Karaka in New Zealand earlier this year.
Another Redoute’s Choice filly out of Slice Of Paradise from the family of champion juvenile Alinghi is also expected to do well on the first day.
All eyes on Wednesday will be centred on lot 277, a Casino Prince half-brother to Black Caviar, currently the world’s highest ranked racehorse.
“There’s a good vibe about the complex and plenty of interest from local and international buyers ahead of the sale,” Inglis managing director Mark Webster said.
“There a few new faces as well, which is encouraging to see.”
