Champion mare Winx will kick-off her final racing campaign in the Group Two Apollo Stakes this weekend and despite the now 7YO mare having her last campaign with her grand final being the Queen Elizabeth Stakes two months away, bookmakers think she is basically unbeatable judging by the market.
Online bookmaker Sportsbet has Winx at $1.12 in their all-in market to win Saturday’s feature race at Randwick with the market showing she basically has no competition when she makes her much anticipated return with no other runners in single figures to win the race.
Happy Clapper sits on the second line of betting at $11 with Le Romain on the third line at $17 with the rest of the market basically made up of Chris Waller’s other runners.
After the Apollo Stakes, Winx is expected to try to claim the Group One treble she has won for the past two years – the Chipping Norton, George Ryder and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
