Country Cup racing in Victoria continues this Sunday, with the Werribee Cup (2000m) attracting a solid field.
Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2025 Werribee Cup.
2025 Werribee Cup Runner Preview:
1. Holymanz: Didn’t have the best of luck in the Cranbourne Cup but was good late when clear, finishing third to Sabaj. 2000m is the obvious query but off last run, it’s fine, and he is the clear class runner of the field.
2. Bold Soul: Dare say he has eyes on something like Tassie, Hobart/Launceston, but 2000m fresh signals intent. Watch betting.
3. Charterhouse: Bit on the plain side at Cranbourne behind Sabaj and I have a real query at him running 2000m.
4. Rumbled Again: Flying this girl. Drove hard late and just missed in the Eclipse last Saturday and off that effort, the extra 200m is fine. Just needs luck from the gate to be in the finish.
5. Verdad: Ran second in the Kilmore Barrier Trial aka Kilmore Cup. Had every chance on speed and they stayed in the same position. 2000m is a slight question mark and has a tricky draw. If he gets the cart across, he can threaten.
6. Fortune: Hit and miss. His best is good enough but thought he had every chance at Flemington and do think this is harder.
7. Dublin Journal: First up, I don’t think he is here to play.
8. Indispensable: Jumps straight to 2000m from 1450m in the Tatura Cup but was a real eye catcher late. On track for something⦠whether it is here, not sure, but is a must for exotics.
9. Jenni’s Meadow: SCR
10. Scheelite: Forgive/Forget the Cranbourne Cup when badly held up behind tired runners. Froggy on, I dare say he’ll settle handy and is good enough to threaten.
11. Precious Charm: Has won at the trip previously and although she won first up, I am not entirely sure how well she is going. She can go through to the keeper.
12. Black Storm: Lovely ride saw it win the Tatura Cup fresh. Jumps straight to 2000m but has quality about him, so watch betting.
13. Prince Of Helena: SCR
14. Kengero: Better suited in something easier.
15. Chartres (First Emergency): Just not quite sure he is up to these.

2025 Werribee Cup Speed Map
I think Black Storm and Precious Charm are the first two from what I can see. Verdad could get the cart across via them two. Scheelite should lob into a beaut spot from a good draw.
