You have to watch this.
MUNSA MAGIC (Poet’s Voice-Fain) was going to win this race by a minute until his rider pulled the whip.
After racing 3-wide all the way on a heavy track, Munsa Magic still roared up to win and was going to run straight past them. But then jockey Kirk Matheson gave him a cut with the cane, which was totally unnecessary, and the horse reacted.
Now, it’s not Kirk’s thought. He felt he was doing the right thing as all jocks who go for the cane do, but this horse felt aggrieved by it, however.
He tried to dislodge Matheson and he certainly let the rider and his rivals know.
Wow. Yet despite all that with 200m to go, he still came again to lose by a nose.
It was a miracle nothing came down, and certainly suggested this horse, Munsa Magic, who is trained by Jay Hopkins is worth backing next start.
