Following the announcement of first acceptances, The Bostonian remains the $6 favourite with TAB to win the TAB Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm on Saturday, June 8.
The Bostonian is attempting to complete the trifecta of Group 1 sprints over the TAB Queensland Winter Racing Carnival after saluting in the TAB Doomben 10,000 on May 11 and the TAB Kingsford-Smith Cup at Eagle Farm last Saturday.
“The Bostonian was rated a $34 chance when the official nominations were released on April 30 and before last Saturday’s TAB Kingsford-Smith Cup, the Tony Pike-trained gelding was an $8 hope for the TAB Stradbroke Handicap,” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.
Trekking finished third in the TAB Kingsford-Smith Cup last Saturday and is currently $9 for the TAB Stradbroke Handicap along with Tyzone while Spright – winner of the TAB Classic at Morphettville earlier this month – is an $11 chance.
Nobu was victorious last Saturday at Randwick over 2000 metres and is TAB’s $4.50 favourite for the Queensland Derby ahead of SA Derby placegetter Mr Quickie ($6) and Australian Oaks runner-up Scarlet Dream ($9).
Prince Fawaz and Reloaded share TAB favouritism at $4 for the J.J. Atkins Plate ahead of Accession ($4.50) who was runner-up to Strasbourg ($5) in last Saturday’s BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Eagle Farm.
